About Diana

I am a qualified Speech and Language Therapist and a member of Royal College of Speech and Language.  I am registered with both HCPC and ASLTIP.  I have over 20 years of experience in different settings. I am here to help and to discuss with you any concerns you have about your child’s Speech, Language or Communication.  I will be happy to discuss your child’s individual needs over the phone.  I offer a 15 minute free consultation by telephone. My fees are available on request but an indicative price is £85 per hour.

I qualified in 1999 as a Speech and Language Therapist (Postgraduate Diploma, City University). I have predominately worked with children in the preschool years and the foundation stages of education.

 

  • Qualified from City University in 1999 completing the postgraduate SLT diploma

  • First degree was in microbiology from Manchester University

  • Mother of 3 grown-up children

  • Worked both in NHS and Independently since qualifying

  • Worked both in the UK and Singapore

Specialisms

Language Delay

I have experience of working with specific language delay and global developmental delay.  My skills include supporting language development with both Makaton (signing) and PECS (visuals).

Social Communication

I have helped to support children with social communication difficulties both at home and within their educational environments.  Working both on their non-verbal communication and play.

Speech Clarity

I have significant experience working with children with speech clarity issues.  Working with both articulatory (difficulties producing sounds) and phonological (difficulties using the appropriate sound).  The direct experience that I have received in the community clinic environment, is also supported by the training that I have undertaken on the Nuffield dyspraxia approach.
